Profile
Chris practises in revenue law, with a particular focus on GST and stamp duty and other indirect taxes.
Since being called to the Bar in 2001, Chris has developed a substantial advice practice, advising the Revenue and taxpayers throughout Australia and overseas. Chris has appeared on behalf of taxpayers and the Revenue in numerous disputes in Federal and State jurisdictions, including as Counsel for the taxpayer in two of the first three GST cases to be heard by the High Court.
Chris also assists taxpayers in negotiating a positive resolution to their disputes with the Revenue, including providing assistance with risk reviews, audits and objections to assessments.
In 2015 Chris was included in the list of “Leading Tax Barristers – Melbourne” in Doyle’s Guide."
